Best. Gift. EVER.

Missing Pieces says, "MISSING PIECES wishes you a very happy birthday!!! Expect a phone call from Rainn Wilson later today!!! Except, oh-we don't have your phone number... Oh well... You'll just have to accept our birthday wishes from this dinky little comment :) "

I reply, "Thanks for the happy wishes... Heck, for a phone call from Rainn I would give my number, address, and social security number :) "

As you all know, I support Missing Pieces and have enjoyed interviewing both the director, Samah Tokmachi, and writer, Jono Goorvich. The film won the Now Film Festival and is making its rounds at various festivals. It has been incredible to see the well-deserved success of Missing Pieces. If it screens in Chicago, my roommate and I have plans on visiting the area :)

Okay, okay. I'll tell you why I nearly had a heart attack today....

The morning began with me angry at my alarm and tired beyond all reason. After hopping in the shower, I grabbed my cell phone and headed to the sink.

I flipped open the device and began checking my voicemail. One new message at 12:00AM...

"Greetings Tiffany. I understand it is the day of your birth. And this is Dwight Schrute, Regional Manager, Assistant Regional Manager, excuse me, at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. I'm being paid to call you and wish you a happy birthday. So, congratulations, you are not getting any younger. Eventually, there will be no more birthdays.. And that's how the cookie crumbles. That is all."

Rainn Wilson called me at midnight to wish me happy birthday!!! Never, in my wildest dreams, did I expect to get that message this morning! Rainn was incredibly funny and so kind for taking the time to call.

That made my year --- I've got a permanent smile on my face.. That's what she said!

All kidding aside, I want to thank Samah and Rainn for that once-in-a-lifetime experience. I wish I could send a large fruit basket or bouquet of sharpened pencils to you both. For now, this must suffice...
